FUJIFILM India, a pioneering company in the fields of diagnostics and imaging innovations, has successfully completed a remarkable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at revitalizing educational infrastructure in India. The project involved the refurbishment of two government schools in Gurugram and Faridabad, with the vision of empowering students and fostering a brighter future. Additionally, FUJIFILM India conducted impactful workshops on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) to sensitize children and organized healthcare camps to benefit both the students and the residents of Jajru Village in Faridabad.
Revolutionizing Education
The primary goal of this initiative was to enhance the capacity and amenities of the Government Primary School in Sushant Lok, Gurugram, and the Government Middle School in Jajru, Faridabad. FUJIFILM India undertook extensive infrastructure development, addressing cleanliness, hygiene, and beautification with swings and wall art, transforming these schools into modern and inspiring spaces conducive to learning. Access to safe drinking water and the creation of recreational play areas were also key aspects of the revitalization. By investing in educational resources and upgrading facilities, FUJIFILM India seeks to empower young minds to become leaders and innovators of tomorrow.
Empowering Through Sensitization
In addition to the infrastructural improvements, FUJIFILM India organized “Aao Baat Karein” Awareness Workshops on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment. These workshops aimed to dispel myths and misconceptions surrounding sexual abuse, providing crucial information on sexual health, menstruation, reproductive organs, hygiene, and early adolescent issues. The objective was to empower children to raise their voices against sexual abuse, protect themselves, and build gender sensitivity. These workshops play a vital role in safeguarding the well-being and dignity of the students.
Caring for Health and Well-being
FUJIFILM India’s commitment to community well-being extended to organizing healthcare camps in Jajru Village, Faridabad. These camps not only benefited the students but also around 2400 residents of the village. The camps encompassed a range of health services, such as Swasthya Mela, Mahila Swasthya Shivir, Bal Swasthaya Mela, Dant Suraksha Shivir, Naitra Jaanch Shivir, and Mahavari Swachta Abhiyaan Shivir. Through these comprehensive health screenings and awareness programs, FUJIFILM India ensured the holistic well-being of the villagers, making a meaningful impact on their lives.
Visionary Leadership and Sustainable Impact
Koji Wada, Managing Director of FUJIFILM India, expressed his pride in witnessing the transformation of these schools and the positive impact they will have on the students’ lives. He emphasized that education is the cornerstone of progress, and investing in the future of young minds sows the seeds of a prosperous society. The combination of infrastructural development, POSH sessions, and health camps exemplifies FUJIFILM India’s dedication to creating a meaningful difference in the communities it serves.
A Sustainable Approach
FUJIFILM India’s CSR activities are rooted in its Sustainable Value Plan 2023, which prioritizes regions that require maximum attention. By allocating significant budgets to infrastructure development in these schools, FUJIFILM India ensures a long-term impact that attracts children back to a hygienic and attractive learning environment.
